The Sultanate of Oman is known for producing various products from the past into the present. Among these are things such as frankincense, Omani halwa (a sweet that’s unique to the country) and rosewater. Although not the biggest manufacturer of rosewater in the world, Oman’s rosewater and roses are held in high regard and are used in everything from flavoring foods to adding scents to perfumes and colognes. There are also uses for cleaning and traditional medicine as well. Most of Oman’s rosewater comes from the roses that are grown in the Jebel Akhdar region near Nizwa.
