In Fanja, Oman, the last day of Eid al-Adha is commemorated with a huge celebration called al-Azwah. A little before the evening, after the late day prayer, residents gather in a specific area. The celebrations begin with the firing of a canon which is followed by men with drums who sing and chant. Afterward, there is a traditional display of swordsmanship and in the end, the residents march through the street carrying their Omani flags as a sign of their devotion to their nation.
